Everton Football Club's BTEC Academy has started recruiting for this September and is looking for students who love their football and wish to develop a comprehensive overview of the sports industry, with a specific focus on football and football coaching.

The course covers areas including:

  • Psychology for Sports Performance
  • Sports Nutrition
  • Training and Fitness Programming
  • Technical and Tactical Skills in Sport
  • Analysis of Sports Performance
  • The Athlete's Lifestyle
  • Working with Children in Sport
  • Education and the care of Children and Young People
  • The Principles of Anatomy & Physiology
  • Fitness Testing for Sport and Exercise
  • Sports Coaching
  • Sports Injuries
  • Talent Identification and Development in Sport
  • Assessing Risks in Sport
  • Current Issues in Sport
  • Rules, Regulations and Officiating in Sport

The course length is 2 years full-time and we are looking for students with 5 GCSE'S grade C or above. The course boasts 100% pass rate and starting from September the course is going to be delivered in the following schools:

  • Everton Free School – Toxteth Fire-Fit Hub

Childwall Sports and Science Academy is delighted to announce that two of our students Fjolla Grajqevci and Kate Sefton have successfully taken part in the Liverpool University Widening Participation Programme. More

Sports Hall Availability

We have availability in the Sports Hall over the Summer (£20 per hour). The available timeslots are:

  • Monday - 5pm-6pm & 6pm-7pm
  • Tuesday - 5pm-6pm & 6pm-7pm & 8pm-9pm
  • Wednesday - 5pm-6pm & 6pm-7pm
  • Thursday - 5pm-6pm
  • Friday - 5pm-6pm & 7pm-8pm & 8pm-9pm

The OK Foundation

Recently Childwall Sports and Science Academy was delighted to be visited by Mr Mark King, father of Oliver King and Jake Morrison, Local Labour MP as part of The Oliver King Foundation project. More

Wind Turbine Challenge

Year 5 pupils from local primary schools are to visit Childwall Sports and Science Academy to take part in the ‘Wind Turbine Challenge’.  They will put their design, technology, engineering, Science and Maths (STEM) talents to the test in a one day challenge.  Working in small groups the day is designed to enhance pupils aptitude for problem solving, creativity, design, engineering and is especially geared to compliment the current National curriculum.  The day will be fun packed at a fast pace with many prizes to be won.  We look forward to welcoming our future professionals!

Uniform updates

We have now decided on the two uniform designs, they will be displayed at the Year 7 and 8 Parents Evenings. All pupils will be able to vote once the final uniform is decided. Every pupil will be measured in order for their personal uniform to be made.

Head Boy and Girl

The process has begun for the head boy and girl for the next academic year. The process begins with pupils applying in writing for the position and the Student Progress Leader Mr.Langley will then short list the candidates. Pupils will have to canvas for votes through a market place attended by all Key Stage 3 pupils. This will be in the summer term.
