Careers Quality Award

After a lot of hard work our whole school Careers Programme including our careers library in the LRC has been awarded the Connexions Careers Quality Award. This shows the excellent level of support and guidance available to our students. Childwall is proud to be one of the first schools in Liverpool to gain this recognised award.

Connexions Information

The Connexions Careers Information Library is located in the LRC. We have books, leaflets and ringbinders with up to date information covering a range of careers topics from options in Year 9 to University courses, job seeking hints to writing CVs and letters of application.

Careers Magazines

We also subscribe to a number of magazines which have all the latest information and advice on careers issues and student life.

These comprehensive websites have information on over 800 jobs and feature real life case studies of people in employment and training. Both of these require a username and password which are available in the LRC for students and staff.

Careers lessons at Childwall

• During PSE time Yr 9 tutors will bring classes into the LRC to access the careers programs.
• Higher Ideas (provides advice and guidance for post 16 students on Higher Education choices)
• Keyclips (here you can search by keyword or by qualifications and skills)
• Kudos (matches careers to your answers to a range of questions looking at qualifications and interests)
• Streets Ahead (suitable for Year 9 students and looks at Option choices) Worksheets are available to help staff and students get the most out of these programs.
