Recently every year group at Childwall Sports Centre was visited by the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service to give advice regarding safety on Bonfire Night and also on Mischief Night. Students in all year groups were addressed by Officers form the Liverpool Fire and Rescue Service who gave pertinent advice regarding the needs for safety when handling fireworks and also when being in attendance at bonfires.
Students in all year groups were advised strongly to desist from involvement in ‘mischief night’. Students were also advised to only visit properly organised bonfires on the night of the 5th November.
The talks given by colleagues from the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service were extremely well received by all students and all were suitably impressed with the need for goo behaviour at all times.
“I am grateful to the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service for coming into school recently to talk to our students regarding safety issues especially in the run up to Bonfire Night. I do hope that al youngsters throughout the City enjoy a safe Bonfire Night.”
