In addition to being a Sports College Childwall School is committed to ensuring that all its staff and students enjoy a ‘healthy lifestyle’. To this end the School has recently published a ‘Healthy Lifestyles’ collection of fitness routines and recipe, provided by staff parents and students.
In March 2009 Childwall Sports College was inspected by Ofsted and inspectors concluded that Childwall was “...a good school with outstanding features.” The Inspection Report went on to state that “the strong emphasis on promoting students well being gives students an excellent understanding of what they need to do to maintain a healthy lifestyle...students can talk readily about healthy eating and they are involved in a wide range of physical activities.”
The ‘Healthy Lifestyles Book’ contains recipes including baked salmon, minestrone soup, Chinese salmon, creamy red lentil soup, vegetable crumble, lamb kofta and low fat strawberry dream pudding. In addition contributors have included a range of fitness regimes around skiing, Pilates, hill walking, tennis, hockey, dance and yoga. All of these activities are ones which are perused by staff and students at Childwall Sports College.
“Childwall Sports College is committed to ensuring that all its students live healthy lifestyles and I am sure that the booklet produced by our staff, students and parents will prove an invaluable support to our drive to ensure health living.”
