The Mini Guerrillas are now in Year 9 and were recently invited by Museums and Galleries on Merseyside to attend the Private View of ‘The Rise of Women Artists’ exhibition at the Walker Art Gallery! ( See ‘Events’ for our Campaign for Human Rights last term). 'The Rise of Women Artists' charts the progress made by female artists from the 16th century up to the present day.
Director of the Walker, Reyahn King, and Curators Robin Emmerson and Laura MacCulloch were delighted that our pupils could make the launch of the exhibition and the ‘protest’ by the Childwall Mini Guerrillas aimed at promoting more female artists in National Collections, was highlighted in opening speeches and presentations....our pleas paid off!!
