Thirty of our gifted Year 8 and 9 scientists set off at the crack of dawn for a gruelling 7 hour coach ride to Pembroke to take part in a lottery funded eco-challenge with the Field Studies Council. Our pupils were occupied from the start getting involved in team building activities, developing communication and leadership skills and building shelters!
They worked brilliantly in their teams to learn about their eco-friendliness, identify rocky shore inhabitants, and look for badgers and bats and to take part in workshops designed to highlight awareness for conservation. Despite the cold and wet, our eco warriors cut down trees, cleared alien species and built bird boxes.
They represented the school brilliantly and managed to have some fun along the way too. Well done to all of you who took part.
