Champions Residential

Before Christmas, three of our Year 11 students, Kathryn White, Lauren Bowles and Holly Wissett took part in an overnight residential at Lakeside YMCA Outdoor Education Centre in the Lake District.

The aims of the trip were to engage the young people in activities that would challenge them personally, encourage them to take responsibility for themselves and allow them to develop their leadership and decision making skills. It is expected that the young people will transfer these skills into this important GCSE year at school.

Activities included Climbing Wall, Abseil Tower, Challenge Course, King Swing and Nightline which were guided and instructed by Lakeside staff, who also set goals with the young people and helped them to evaluate and reflect on their own learning and experiences.
