CSI Summer School 2008

Hot off the press! There has been a murder at Childwall. Well, this is what the pupils had to investigate during their time at CSI Childwall. A group of Year 7 and Year 8 pupils put their thinking caps on to try and solve a murder mystery using detective, scientific and forensic skills. The techniques that the pupils used during the week were;

Fingerprinting
Gathering Evidence and photography
Interviewing potential suspects
Facial Reconstruction
DNA Testing Kits
Foot Printing Techniques
Thinking Skills
Ink Chromatography
‘Autopsy’ dissection

In the end, the mystery was solved and the culprit was arrested! All participants had a great time and found the experience worthwhile and extremely valuable.

Dr. Youssef is planning another successful Gifted and Talented Science Summer School next year in July 2008.
