This year Childwall School a Specialist Sports College achieved its’ best ever keystage 4 results. The school exceeded its target in the key indicator of those gaining 5 or more A*-C grades including English and Maths by a huge 7%. This continues the schools upward trend with a minimum of 60% of students achieving 5 or more good GCSE’s. This follows last week’s outstanding keystage 5 results which saw large numbers of Childwall students achieving top grades to allow them to pursue their studies at university.
Notable successes at GCSE include Tom Parker who was one of a group successfully completing the new National Diploma in Engineering. Tom went on to gain an impressive 4 GCSE’s grades A.
Other standout performances included Jamie Lawson who gained 12 A and A* at GCSE’s, Teja Lavin 8 A and A* and Tyra Suleman also with 9 A and A*, Antonia Goudie who achieved 2A* 5 B and 5 C’s. Michael Hall 5 A* 6 A and 2 B’s.
“Once again I am delighted to report that students Childwall Sports College have exceeded their target grades for GCSE in 2010. There have been some outstanding individual results and these are a tribute to the high quality teaching and commitment of the youngsters. Our Sixth Form will be oversubscribed as a result of these outstanding GCSE results. My congratulations go to all students on their GCSE successes”.
