Internet Safety

Student safety is important and when any students are using the Internet at Childwall they will be supervised by staff at all times.

Here at Childwall we have a ICT Acceptable Use Policy for all students to sign with their parents/guardians -this covers Code of Conduct issues when using the computers along with using the Internet and email responsibly.

Year 9 students will have Internet Safety and Chat Danger awareness sessions built into their PSE lessons.

Internet Rules

These have been developed to ensure the safety and privacy of all students when using the Internet.

Students have no access to chat rooms. This is because we do not know who is at the other end and how they may behave.

Students should never reveal any personal details about themselves, (such as home address) when using the Internet.

No students will be allowed to use the Internet without adult supervision, this is either from a teacher, classroom assistant, technician or member of LRC staff.

The school reserves the right to check student’s computer files and monitor use of the Internet in school.

Parents

We are aware that many of our students have the Interent at home and we would encourage parents to visit the sites listed below and read the sections aimed at parents. These will give parents useful information on protecting their children from offensive material on the Internet.
