OFSTED Report

Following Childwall Sports College’s excellent OFSTED Report we were delighted to receive a letter from Mr. Stuart Smith, Executive Director, Children, Families and Adult Services, Liverpool Local Authority. Stuart Smith’s letter is as follows:

I am writing to you having recently received a copy of your OFSTED Inspection Report carried out under Section 5 Regulations which I read with interest and an increasing sense of pride. This very positive report starts by acknowledging that in the case of Childwall Sports College, “key to its success is the warm and caring ethos fostered by all staff and greatly valued by students”. I was particularly delighted to note that “all students including the most vulnerable, are provided with the very best opportunities to succeed” and later to see that the report acknowledges the work of the Governors and the school’s Trust Board.

Childwall Sports College clearly provides the sort of broad and balanced curriculum that enables all students to flourish and the acknowledgement by OFSTED of the quality of teaching is something which all your staff should take great pride particularly in the way OFSTED has recognised that staff manage students well. In evaluating Leadership and Management, OFSTED noted that “the Headteacher and senior leadership team provide impressive leadership and set a clear direction for improvement”. I am delighted that the tireless work and time you and your team have dedicated to the students at Childwall Sports College has been recognised in this way. This extremely positive report both acknowledges the excellent work you have already undertaken and recognises the commitment the school has for the pupils in your care in terms of your capacity to improve.

I am well aware that this level of achievement and success is not gained without considerable effort and dedicated teamwork from the whole school community. Please do extend my personal thanks and congratulations to all staff, to the Governing Body of the school and equally to your students who have clearly represented the school in a positive way. Again my most sincere congratulations on achieving external recognition of the high quality education and provision offered to all who attend Childwall Sports College.
