Safeguarding

Childwall Sports College takes its responsibilities in terms of safeguarding and well being of students and staff extremely seriously.

In our last full Ofsted Inspection of 2009 our safeguarding arrangements were commended by the Ofsted Team. We regularly review our safeguarding procedures and take great pride in confirming that “Every Childwall Child Matters”. All colleagues undertake regular child protection training in line with Local Authority guidelines.

We have designated Child Protection Colleagues for Keystages 3, 4 and 5, these colleagues are:

Keystage 3 - Miss J Cassidy / Miss C Gall
Keystage 4 - Mr C Mullarkey / Mr M O’Leary
Keystage 5 - Mrs J Gambardella

Our Governors are well versed in terms of safeguarding and two of our Governors are designated as having responsibility through the Governing Body for matters pertaining to safeguarding. These two governors are:

Mrs B Hoatson

Both Governors play an active role in the life of the school and regularly visit the school to discuss our commitment to safeguarding.

Our Governing Body also take its responsibility in terms of safeguarding seriously in terms of staffing appointments. Governors have undertaken the appropriate training to allow them to be members of the staffing committee and to ensure that safeguarding issues are an important element in the selection of staff appointed to work at Childwall Science / Sports College.
