Learning Support Co-ordinator - Mr C Jones (Key Stage 5)
The Sixth Form have taken part in a two day print workshop, producing a magazine based on Liverpool as The European Capital of Culture for 2008. The workshop was held on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th July and was funded by the Hughes Percival Trust.
As part of the experience, the students have been to visit the Manchester Evening Newsroom to speak to experienced professionals and view a working news environment. A working Journalist has also been into the school to visit the students, giving a talk on news production.
The event was a great experience for the students, especially as some are considering venturing into the Media world in the coming years. The magazine will showcase a young person's view on the upcoming Capital of Culture and how it is affecting the local environment.
I would like to thank everyone who has contributed and helped in the organising so far, a copy of the final product will be available in the Sixth Form soon.
