The Technology Faculty is committed to the shared values as stated in the school aims. We feel very strongly that successful learning and teaching is based on good relationships between staff and students. Mutual respect and cooperation are central to such relationships in forming pupils’ attitudes of good social behaviour and self discipline.
We appreciate that all pupils are individuals with differing social backgrounds, talents, aspirations and needs. We strongly believe that each pupil is entitled to mature and develop within a safe and caring environment in order to achieve their full potential. Sensitive consideration of pupils, by all staff, increases their self esteem which in turn will produce greater achievement.
Technology staff always demand high, yet realistic standards of effort, behaviour and achievement. We strive to create a secure, working environment where all individuals are equally valued. We encourage pupils to acquire the knowledge and skills that will help develop their understanding of spiritual, moral, cultural and social issues to further their own beliefs, character and behaviour to respect different cultures and customs.
We aim to raise pupil achievement using their interest in sport and health to engage, motivate and develop leadership skills through our curriculum area.
We have 2 fully fitted catering rooms, 1 electronics room, 2 graphics rooms, 2 resistant materials rooms, a fully fitted Motor Vehicle area and a Textiles room.
