BTEC Design & Graphic First Certificate - What is it?

This is a practical, work-related course. You learn by completing designing and making assignments in Design and Graphics.

A BTEC First Certificate is equivalent to two GCSEs grades A* - C and is taken over two years.

Assessment is 100% by coursework. There are no exams.

What do I need to do the course?

Anyone can take the course, but having an enjoyment of drawing and / or computer graphics is an advantage.

What will I learn?

You will learn skills in 2D and 3D communication using the following techniques:

• Drawing
• Painting
• Printmaking
• Digital design
• Graphic Design
• Modeling

What does it lead to?

A BTEC First prepares you for employment and provides a good grounding to go on to a more advanced qualification in the 6th form.
