On Thursday 3rd March Levi Tafari came to Childwall to celebrate World Book Day with our Year 9 students. Levi talked about his life and background before reading some of his poetry which looked at issues of stereotyping and prejudice. This inspired our students to write and perform their own short poems about when they have faced prejudice and stereotyping in their lives.
Many thanks to Levi and all the staff involved for making the day a success.
Levi Tafari was born in Liverpool. He is the author of numerous poetry collections: Duboetry, Liverpool Experience, Rhyme Don't Pay and From the Page to the Stage. He has also worked on educational projects running creative writing workshops in schools, colleges, youth centres, prisons and libraries, in the UK and around the world.
